YESTERDAY, Rumbi Jungle, 16, was sentensed to life imprisonment at Fullo’bikes Maximum Prison.
“The accused,” read Honourable Justice Antibiker, “has the potential of a cyclist. The purpose of the law is to protect both the society at large and the law breakers. Having found him guilty of mass conspiracy, I have no choice but to award the maximum penalty for such a crime.”
Master Jungle was accused of buying a roadbike, selling some of his shoes to purchase a pair of cycling shoes, and for emptying half his wardrobe to make space for a collection of jersies and a helmet.
“The Prosecution, on behalf of the State, recommends that this man be awarded life in prison for conspiracy…. If such an offense were to be pardoned and permitted, our beloved city would be one huge mound of chaos.”
On the other hand, the accused was pleased with the court’s holding. In his speech, he said, “I am so happy that I can finally get to live behind (handle)bars. I have always wanted to be one of the greats. Perhaps one day I will become so notorious that the wardens will have no choice but to mark me with the maillot jaune (yellow jersey).”
Fullo’bikes Prison has been known for its brutal methods of exposing inmates to punishing climbs, unending flats and even fights at the sprint. Human Rights activist, Fundiman Mafta, has expressed concern over such a penalty for a juvenile. The petition will be heard on 17th July.
